Children's Otolaryngology

The Children's Otolaryngology is a part of the specialty dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nose, throat and ears in the children.

Some diseases of these areas are very common in the childhood like otitis, tonsillitis and adenoids. These illness affect development and growth of the child but can also leave sequelae throughout life in the form of hearing loss, chronic otitis, dental malposition or chronic sinusitis.

There are other diseases such as malformations, specific developmental abnormalities and illness that occur almost exclusively in childhood and are also the subject of this specialty. The specificity of these diseases, as well as the examination and treatment that the children require, justifies a special dedication of the doctor that treats the child.
